Popular and unique recipe of sweet mung bean with seaweed that could serves hot, warm for dessert or ice cold for refreshment. It is one of the best Asian recipes in South East Asia. Cup dried mung bean, soaked for 4 hours, rinsed and drained½
Fresh or frozen pandan leaf1
Cups water9
Cup dried sea weed, soaked in cold water, rinsed and drained½
Cup sugar1
Cup palm sugar or light brown sugar1
Teaspoon salt½

Directions to make Mung Bean and Sea-weed Drink

  1. In a large pot, put mung beans with pandan leaf and water, cook till beans tender.
  2. Add sea weed, sugar, palm sugar and salt, stirs till the sugar dissolved, continue to cook till water bubbling.
  3. Turn of the heat and let it cool off before serve.
  4. Add ice cubes when serve.
