Cambodian Red Curry Beef Skewers
The Cambodian Red Curry Beef Skewers recipe offers a flavorful and convenient option for a family-friendly meal. With its aromatic blend of ingredients, this dish is sure to become a household favorite.
To begin, boneless beef is thinly sliced, providing a tender foundation for the dish. The marinade is crafted using a mortar and pestle to create a paste from lemongrass, galangal, garlic, Mexican chili, and kaffir lime leaves, along with a touch of salt. This mixture is combined with the beef, along with coconut milk, red curry paste, oyster sauce, fish sauce, olive oil, and sugar. The result is a rich, fragrant marinade that infuses the beef with a delightful medley of flavors.
The marination process is crucial to the success of this dish, and allowing the meat to marinate for at least four hours, or even overnight, ensures that it absorbs the full spectrum of flavors. This step contributes to the tenderness and depth of flavor that defines the final dish.
When it’s time to cook, the marinated beef is threaded onto skewers and grilled to perfection. Each side is grilled for about 4 to 5 minutes, or until the meat reaches the desired level of doneness. It’s important to brush the grill with oil to prevent sticking.
The Cambodian Red Curry Beef Skewers are served alongside a refreshing carrot and green papaya salad, providing a balanced and satisfying meal. This recipe exemplifies the artful combination of aromatic ingredients in Cambodian cuisine, resulting in a delicious and accessible dish for the whole family to enjoy.
