Salted Fish with Minced Pork Steam

The Salted Fish with Minced Pork Steam recipe centers around the use of trey Prama or Trey Bra, a type of salted fish. Given the difficulty in mincing these fish, the author recommends steaming them first before combining them with ground pork. The dish offers an intriguing blend of flavors and textures.

The ingredients include minced trey Prama, ground pork, scrambled eggs, minced garlic (or a combination of garlic and shallots), Thai chilies (adjust to personal preference), sugar, and optional MSG for seasoning. To prepare the dish, all the ingredients, except for the eggs, are finely minced on a clean cutting board. The mixture is then transferred to a bowl, and scrambled eggs are added and thoroughly mixed in.

The next step involves steaming the mixture until it reaches a fully cooked state. Alternatively, for a different texture, the mixture can be fried in a pan with hot oil. When frying, the mixture is formed into flat portions and cooked until both sides achieve a golden brown hue, ensuring the ground pork is fully cooked.

To serve, the Salted Fish with Minced Pork Steam can be paired with Thai crunchy vegetables or steamed broccoli, topped with a squeeze of lime juice for an added burst of freshness and acidity. This dish provides a unique and flavorful experience, combining the distinctive taste of salted fish with the rich, savory notes of minced pork. The option to steam or fry the mixture offers versatility in preparation methods, allowing cooks to customize the dish to their preference. Overall, this recipe is a testament to the creative fusion of ingredients and cooking techniques in creating a delicious and memorable meal.
