Corn Padding Dessert
Corn pudding dessert with sweet rice and coconut sauce is a delicious Khmer dessert. It is a quick and easy dish that can be made with just a few ingredients. The pudding is made with corn kernels, sweet rice, water, salt, vanilla extract, and sugar. It is served warm with prepared coconut sauce.
To make the pudding, first remove the husks and silks from the corn. Then, use a sharp knife to scrape the kernels off the cobs.
In a medium pot, combine the corn kernels, sweet rice, and water. Cook the mixture over medium heat until the sweet rice is tender.
Stir in the salt, vanilla extract, and sugar. Continue to cook the mixture until the sugar has dissolved and the pudding is heated through. Serve the pudding warm with prepared coconut sauce and enjoy!
Ingredients
3 corns | ||
1/3 cup of un-cooked Jasmine sweet rice | ||
5 cups of water | ||
1/4 teaspoon of salt | ||
1/2 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract | ||
1 cup of sugar |
Directions to make Corn Pudding Dessert
- Removed corn’s hush and silks from corn’s ears, washed and drained. Use sharp knife to scrapes corn cobs with thin cut.
- In a medium pot, put corn kernels, sweet rice and water together, cook till sweet rice tender.
- Add salt, vanilla extract and sugar, stir well.
Serve warm with prepared coconut sauce.
