Stir Fry Broccoli Beef and Rice
The Stir Fry Broccoli Beef and Rice dish is a beloved classic, combining the rich flavors of Chinese and Cambodian cuisine. This recipe features succulent beef slices paired with tender broccoli florets, creating a delightful and easy-to-make dish that has earned a special place in my culinary favorites.
To start, thinly sliced beef is marinated in a flavorful mixture of soy sauce, rice wine (or any cooking wine), and oyster sauce. The longer the meat marinates, the more tender and flavorful it becomes, making this a crucial step for achieving optimal results.
The stir fry sauce, a key element of this dish, is a blend of soy sauce, Yoshika sauce, low-sodium chicken broth (or water), sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, and tapioca starch (or corn starch). This medley of ingredients creates a savory and well-balanced sauce that complements the beef and broccoli perfectly.
In the cooking process, minced garlic is first sautéed in oil until fragrant. Then, the marinated beef is added, stir-fried until no longer pink, and combined with the broccoli. If a crunchier texture is preferred for the broccoli, microwaving can be skipped. Next, the stir fry sauce is introduced, and the meat and broccoli are cooked for an additional two minutes, or until the beef reaches the desired level of doneness.
The finished dish is served hot over a bed of rice, providing a hearty and satisfying meal. For an optional finishing touch, roasted sesame seeds can be sprinkled on top, adding a delightful nutty flavor and a hint of crunch. The Stir Fry Broccoli Beef and Rice recipe exemplifies the harmony of flavors in Chinese-Cambodian cuisine and offers a delicious and straightforward option for a homemade meal.
