Dull knives can turn simple prep work into a frustrating chore. If you cook Cambodian or Southeast Asian food at home, you know how much slicing, mincing, and chopping goes into dishes like soups, stir-fries, and salads. A sharp, reliable knife makes that work faster and safer. The HENCKELS Statement 20-Piece Knife Set comes with a self-sharpening block and a bonus sharpener, so you spend less time worrying about blade maintenance and more time cooking. This set is worth a closer look if you want a complete knife collection for everyday kitchen tasks.
Product Summary
This is a 20-piece knife set from HENCKELS that comes with a self-sharpening block and a bonus knife sharpener. It includes a wide range of knives, steak knives, kitchen shears, and a honing steel. The set is designed for everyday home cooking and food preparation.
Why We Recommend It
We chose this set because it covers almost every cutting task a home cook faces, from chopping herbs to slicing bread. The self-sharpening block is a practical feature that helps keep blades ready to use. For anyone cooking Cambodian or Southeast Asian food at home, having sharp knives for preparing lemongrass, garlic, shallots, and herbs makes prep work easier and more enjoyable.
Best For
This set is best for US home cooks who want a complete knife collection in one purchase. It suits people who cook a variety of cuisines, including Asian dishes, and who prefer a manual, hands-on approach to food preparation. It is also useful for beginners building a kitchen from scratch.
Things to Consider
The block is fairly large and needs counter space. The knives are lightweight and stamped rather than forged, which some cooks prefer for maneuverability but others may find less substantial than heavier knives. Hand washing is recommended even though the knives are dishwasher safe. The set is made in China. Consider whether you need this many steak knives, as eight are included.
