Smooth Caramel Candies Recipe

The Smooth Caramel Candies Recipe presents a straightforward and accessible way to create delicious candies at home. With a minimalistic recipe and a few tricks, these candies boast a delightful taste and make for perfect homemade gifts. The key ingredients include white and brown sugar, corn syrup, evaporated milk, heavy whipping cream, butter, and vanilla extract, forming a harmonious blend that contributes to the candies’ smooth texture and rich flavor.

To bring this recipe to life, a deep pot and a 12×15 sprayed pan are essential tools, ensuring the candies won’t stick when cut. Additionally, a candy thermometer is crucial for precision during the cooking process. The ingredients are combined in the pot, excluding the vanilla extract. The mixture is heated on medium until it begins to bubble, after which the heat is reduced to low, ensuring a controlled cooking process. Constant stirring is maintained until the candy thermometer reads 250 degrees F (or 120 C), signifying the ideal temperature for the caramelization process.

Upon reaching the desired temperature, the pot is removed from heat, and vanilla extract is added to enhance the flavor. The resulting mixture is poured into the prepared pan, left to cool before being cut into small squares, and finally wrapped in candy wrappers.
