Chinese Sesame Chicken Recipe

This Chinese Sesame Chicken Recipe is crispy chicken pieces quick fry in a sesame sauce. This delicious homemade Sesame Chicken is even better than what you have in a restaurant.

Marinate the chicken

2 breasts about 1lb (900 gram) of chicken cut the meat to bite site
1 teaspoon of chicken bouillon powder
1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil
1 teaspoon of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of rice wine or sherry
Dash of white pepper
Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes.

For the batter

1/2 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
½ teaspoon of baking soda
2/3 cup of water (adjusts water to thick or thins the batter)
4 tablespoon of cornstarch
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
Mix everything in a bowl and set aside. (I use store bought tempura powder)

For the sauce

3 tablespoon of honey
2 tablespoon of sugar
2 tablespoon of ketchup
1 tablespoon of vinegar
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 teaspoon of chili paste for spicy (optional)
Mix them all in a bowl and set aside.

Directions to make Chinese Sesame Chicken Recipe

  1. Add 3 cup of vegetable oil in a wok and turn the heat to medium high,
  2. Take the marinate chicken and coat it with batter or tempura mix.
  3. Deep fry the chicken for 4 minutes or till golden brown, take the chicken out and set it on paper towel.
  4. In the same work leave 1 tablespoon of oil and fry the garlic till brown
  5. Add the sauce mix heat it till boiling
  6. Add the cook chicken mix well on low heat
  7. Turn the heat off add green onion
  8. Garnish your chicken with sesame seeds

Serve with rice
