Delicious Homemade Buttermilk Donuts

Delicious Homemade Buttermilk Donuts are a delightful treat that can be easily prepared using Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits. This recipe is not only simple, but it also provides an opportunity for children to get involved in the cooking process. With just a few ingredients and easy steps, anyone can create these tasty donuts.

To begin, the biscuit dough is taken out of the can and a hole is punched in the center. The inner part of the dough that was removed can be rolled into small balls and deep-fried to create additional donut holes. In a frying pan, vegetable oil is heated over medium heat until hot, but not too hot to avoid burning the dough. Each donut is fried until golden brown on both sides, a process that only takes a couple of minutes.

Once the donuts are cooked, they are removed from the oil and allowed to drain while still hot. One side of each donut is dipped into a glaze made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, providing a sweet and flavorful coating. The donuts are then decorated with rainbow sprinkles, adding a colorful and fun touch.

For the donut holes, they can be quickly fried and dipped in either the sugar glaze or powdered sugar for a delicious variation. These Homemade Buttermilk Donuts can be served warm or cold, making them a versatile snack that can be enjoyed at any time. The simplicity and delightful taste of these donuts make them a wonderful treat for both kids and adults alike.
